Moon Cycles and Earthwork Sites
Ohio has one of the most incredible lunar calendar sites in the world. Although some walls have been destroyed, the two main lunar alignments for the minimum and maximum northern most moonrises exist. The minimum moonrise was exact from August through December of 2015, and I was able to photograph all the different phases of the northern minimum moon rise at the opening of the Earth Circle at Newark. In 2024 the maximum moon alignment can be viewed at the large octagon mound down the street. A slide show and talk by Cathy will be presented at the Seed Festival at the Serpent Mound in Peebles Ohio at the spring equinox. Moon prints are available.
